This three-part series of conversations with Zen Priests from Spring Green Dojo, will cover Zen as it relates to Art, Breath, and Soma. A Buddhism of Breath & Bone is meant to be a gathering where we can share experiences in a public but informal way. Conversations will be held Discovery Building and are open to the public.
Alex Greene will lead us in an exploration of the relationship between centuries-old Zen training methods and contemporary somatic approaches to embodiment.
Alex Greene, ordained as a Zen priest in 2008, and spent 3 years as a live-in trainee in the Chozen-ji line of Rinzai Zen under Yokoyama Roshi. He is the owner of Red Beard Bodywork and structural integration, and holds numerous certifications, including in Zen bodytherapy, Integral bodywork, and TRE. He is a faculty member and bodywork coordinator for the Institute for Zen Leadership.
